With the 2012 economy looking strong in Alberta, many Calgarians (or soon to be Calgarians) are wondering where may be the best neighbourhood to invest in. In my opinion, Calgary’s deep South offers a fantastic balance between future gains and current comfort.
With the new hospital opening  in the community of Seton, in the Spring of 2012, there will likely be a large influx of people moving to the communities of Auburn Bay and neighbouring Cranston.

According to The Calgary Herald’s February 4th article, the hospital will be hiring 2400 staff and 183 physicians. This means there will be a rising demand for homes in these neighbouring communities.  Getting in before the demand increases is key.

Currently, starter homes in Auburn Bay start in the low $300,000
range. But not only are these homes reasonable, the community itself also has a lot to offer. This community has a "cottage country" feel and also has a large man made lake which is safe for swimming and even has a beach for lounging. Fishing, canoeing, paddling and kayaking are all activities that are available throughout the summer. In the winter, a beautifully lit skating rink is made available to residents and is fun for the whole family. Auburn Bay also currently has an off-leash dog park and boasts plenty of recreational areas for children.
